Intelligent-PDS™ to ensure superior protection and cost effectiveness of classified networks

The INTERCEPTOR™ Optical Network Security System is an Intelligent- Protected Distribution System (PDS) that, using patented technology, monitors unused fibers within the cables requiring protection to detect unauthorized tampering with the infrastructure.  Patented Smart-filtering™ technology eliminates false alarms by learning the normal day-to-day activity within the environment.

INTERCEPTOR development began in 2003 in response to a government request for an improved alarmed carrier PDS solution.  Since then, INTERCEPTORs have been deployed across the globe and have recorded over 35-million port-hours protecting U.S. government classified networks.

INTERCEPTOR (also called a fiber optic intrusion detection system or FOIDS) makes protecting networks cost effective and enhances security through the elimination of the daily human visible inspections required to secure traditional PDS. This results in more attractive buildings, because with the elimination of inspections comes the authority to remove PDS from the wall and conceal it above the ceiling or below the floor. In some cases, INTERCEPTOR can be used along with a flexible interlocking armored fiber optic cable to completely eliminate all requirements for EMT or rigid metallic conduit. INTERCEPTOR™ supports multiple integration options for responding to alarms and managing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) associated with an alarmed-PDS.

As an Alarmed Carrier PDS compliant with the requirements of NSTISSI 7003, INTERCEPTOR is an authorized PDS option.  Demonstrating their confidence in the INTERCEPTOR, Information Assurance authorities have authorized its use in networks carrying data up to the TS/SCI level including SIPRNet, JWICS and in high threat level environments.
